For example, a claimer exiting a good run in a very fast race will be hard pressed to repeat with a jump in class, or even without one. A winning effort often is followed by a period of losing, as winning a horse race is not an easy task. Good solid handicapping reveals many more listed horses to pass on, especially when bettors find a last out winning effort attractive.
A savvy handicapper often uses the PP's to eliminate horses first, and the same may be done with Slew's list. Be especially aware later in the year, when race conditions open up and talented horses are being run in races to prepare them for the coming season. Pay special attention to the conditions of allowance races, as the superior athlete will make short work of the fast imposters rising in class, or coming out of races with inferior company.
And as always...good luck and good 'capping!
